My Reflection on Data Cleaning

Cleaning

During my time cleaning dirty data for my own project, I’ve always got some questions in my head, like, "Is this the best way to clean or let’s just get it done!" A little frustation came along when doing this up.

Sure, I’m questioning my knowledge and skill to clean the data. However, putting all the effort until the data is ready to be analyzed is a happy ending story for a data analyst or data scientist.

Clock keeps ticking until the day is over, but “are the data is ready?” ask myself. NO!

When the data is not ready, then you have to be ready to think “what’s the problem? why this thing is not finished?”

I always end up thinking about an unfinished problem rather than “what I finished with some data.”

This negatif mind bother my spirit to finish my dirty data!

When I notice this negative mind approaching me, I STOP WHAT I’M DOING!

Take a deep breath, close my mind, and rest for a little bit, which is really helpful to get the negative mind out!

After a while, I’m ready to clean up some data again with a refreshed mind.

Now, let’s do it little by little, choosing one problem I can solve. Define the problem, create a list of questions, and then choose the right technique for the problem.

When I solve this little problem, I take a little celebration and be happy that I just did it! This sign indicates that I’m capable of finishing the problem, and congratulations to myself!

By doing this step over and over after finishing one problem, I’m creating a strong positive mindset for facing a problem!
